Whilst our girls were keen to hit the pool this week, MU struggled for numbers and called a forfeit. So another week off, before taking on Richmond in Round 11.
Essendon defeated Melbourne University : 8 - 0 (FORFEIT RECEIVED)

This week was a scheduled Bye which enabled us all to enjoy an extended break, and hunker down to watch MAFS and/or Survivor kick off 😜. But we'll have to watch the replay next week, as we take on St Cath's.
MSL4 - Report by Marcus Jones
Water Polo is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!! The SL4 guys arrived at MSAC with the summer festivities still on their mind and on their bellies. And after a Winston Churchill like prematch address by the Silver Fox we were ready to take on NYP.
The tactics for the game were clear and simple:
Don’t waste too much energy in the warm up
Shoot Goals
Defend Hard
Drive Drive Drive
I am pleased to report wrap readers we followed the tactics to the letter – we won the first swim off and scored the first 4 goals of the game. Our pace of play was rewarded with exclusion calls from the referees. By half time the score was 8-3 to the good guys. Then Christmas cheer caught up with us and we slowed down a bit and passes started to be a little wayward. But NYP didn’t account for Big Vince and Slippery Sam Brown who stepped it up in the 3rd quarter and punished the opposition with goals in the 3rd. During the 4th quarter the Essendon Juggernaut ran out of steam and we gave the ball away too many times. However it didn’t matter as the game was already over. Highlights of the game included:
Ryan Mills bragging about his Pier to Pub result until Lee one up’d him
Big Vince chasing down 2 fast breaks in the 3rd quarter
Young Lucas causing a turnover in centre back then swimming passed the entire NYP team and scoring a goal on a fast break in the last quarter.
Ryan Mills shooting goals from all angles
Andrew Cover’s daughter on table duty, awarding me a goal that was shot by her dad!!!!
Essendon defeated the NYP Dragons : 15 - 8
Goals: Ryan 4, Vince 3, Ambrose 2, Rucus 2, Lee 2, SamB 1, Lucas 1
