Junior Summer Competition - Round 8

12&U Mixed - Report by Sheridan Mom

For the last two games of the season before the Christmas break, we had an early 8am start. This appeared to be too early for Monash who could only manage 4 kids in the pool for the start of the match. So it was a forfeit, but we got a scratch match underway.

Our second game for the morning was a tight contest. All our players tried hard and it was goal for goal for the first half. In the second half we ran out of legs, and saw DVE swimming well, to create more scoring opportunities.

Well done to all the players and parents for their support. Enjoy your break!

JnrMen - Report by Felix Neal

With just enough to play and no subs we began our game against DVE. We quickly took the lead and ended the quarter 2-0 up. The second quarter saw both teams fight hard with the score rolling up to 4-4. After some great words from our coach the third quarter was played and ended 7-7. Neck and neck heading into the final quarter was exciting. However despite some good opportunities late in the last quarter we lost by a goal. An amazing game to finish off the season.

Essendon/Monash/NYP Dragons were defeated by DVE Aquatic : 8 - 9 Goals : TBC

At our last training session for the year, it was time for the most anticiapted game of the season - the parents Vs the kids! A closely contested event became chaotic when the referee failed to keep player antics at bay. Officially the parents won in a tight tussle, 10-9... but the kids may disagree! Well... there's always next year!
