12&U Mixed - Report by Sheridan Mom

Despite torrential rain at the start of the game, our players, coaches, and umpires pushed through while spectators scrambled for cover. This week, our U12s took on Richmond—a team we knew would be a tough challenge. The first half was a close contest, with our kids working hard to stay on their forwards. Playing in the shallow end made things tricky, and a few missed calls on players pushing off the bottom didn’t help. We went into halftime trailing by two goals. In the third quarter, Richmond extended their lead with two more goals, capitalizing on some fast swimmers who managed to get goal-side. Our team created plenty of chances but couldn’t quite convert. Credit to the kids - they never gave up! In the final quarter, we fought back with some great fast breaks and outscored Richmond. It was a strong finish and a highly competitive game overall.

The team should be proud of their effort. We’re improving every week, and next time we meet Richmond, we’ll be aiming to bring home the win!

Essendon/DVE Aquatic were defeated by the Richmond Tigers : 3 - 6

Goals : Xavier 1, Harvey 1, Louis 1

Youth Boys (Jack) - Report by Ilona Elmore

An undefeated DVE went in against an undefeated MC (one of their 3 teams). Its always hard to know how that will play out. Smaller numbers for DVE this week with only 1 on the bench.  A strong start and game all round and great display by DVE. Jack won a swim up, got a goal, created a penalty goal (and also got kicked out twice!). Overall a great game of water polo.

Next week, they play the other undefeated MC side before a break for the summer.

DVE Aquatic(Essendon) defeated MC Gold : 8 - 5

Youth Boys (Timo)

Northcote(Essendon) defeated the Richmond Tigers : 12 - 1

Youth Girls (Editor)

The girls had another scheduled BYE this week, but will have two very tough matches this weekend to finish off the year, as they face Richmond Yellow and Richmond Black.

Junior Men - Report by Felix Neal

This week the team would be put up against a top of the ladder Melbourne Collegians side. The game began with us going two goals down, however we didn't drop our heads and pushed on. We were rewarded for our efforts, as we went into the half 3-2 up. The second half was important and our defence played very well keeping them to one goal the whole half. We continued to counter attack and played well, ending the game with a convincing scoreline.

DVE Aquatic(Essendon) defeated MC Gold : 10 - 3
